Geoffrey Palmer is without doubt one of Britain's most successful and best loved actors. His dry wit and endearing long suffering charm are complimented by the encyclopaedic knowledge of rough diamond Rae Borras. An East End boy made good Rae turned his back on a promising career in the 60's for the more reliable world of the building industry.
Together they explore what remains of the world of Sir Izaak Walton. They visit some of his favourite haunts and try methods that he would have used 350 years ago.
Although both highly skilled and competent anglers the series proves a challenge as they endeavour to learn techniques that are very different to those practised by todays anglers. As the pair catch some of Britain's classic fish they compare the locations today with how they would have been in the time of Sir Izaak.
