The Carp of Birch Grove (Presented & Narrated by Tim Paisley)

£14.95
Birch Grove’s reputation as a carp water is known throughout the land. During the last few years the venue has developed into one of this country’s most prolific thirties waters. Tim and Mary Paisley have controlled the water since 1989, and video footage of the lovely 5-acre Shropshire lake—and some of its inhabitants-has already been published in Carp in Session. In June 2002, ten years on from the most recent Birch Grove film, that most accomplished and experienced of carp film makers, Len Gurd, joined Tim Paisley and friends at Birch Grove to film the opening of a new season. The resulting DVD captures the atmosphere of the opening on film, the action from the first few days of fishing, and includes footage of some of the water’s current big fish. We have also included numerous stills to illustrate just how many big fish this extraordinary water holds. One thing about Birch Grove never changes. The water is an enigmatic venue, as anyone who has fished it on a regular basis will know. When you fish the start of the season at Birch Grove the carp are usually in a fairly co-operative mood. Would they join in the party this time around? This lovely, atmospheric film reveals all, and is a unique record of a unique, true blue, English carp water. Our thanks to our friends the owners, the Gwilts, for making this film possible, to all our friends who took part, and to film-maker Len Gurd for his good humour, and total professionalism. Aproximate running time 60 minutes.
