Reservoir Trout Fishing (with Bob Church)

Bob Church is a trout fishing specialist who has fished at the highest level all over the world. In this DVD he teams up with top lady fisher, Jeanette Taylor, to show the superb sport that can be had on a trout reservoir. Jeanette Taylor, a professional fly tier, has twice been England Ladies International Champion, and has won many big competitions including the European Grand Slam. 800 acre Pitsford Reservoir near Nothampton is a fine water for hatches of numerous natural fly life which creates excellent fishing for the angler who likes to fish nymph or dry fly. With this in mind, Bob and Jeanette set out to demonstrate the techniques of these methods only to find that current heat wave conditions had sent the trout very deep. So a special fast sinking line technique was adopted and on a day when conditions were far from ideal a number of quality fish were caught for the camera. A return visit was made later in the year, and even though conditions were cooler, the bright sunlight, again made the prospects less than ideal for the dry fly. Despite the bright conditions a few larger trout are seen to show interest in daddy long legs blown in from the bank, so the duo decide to persevere with the dry fly surface fishing – the result is a superb days sport on the dry fly from a top rated A.W.A. water.
