Greys Marker Plus Rod

In the modern carping age, a marker rod is now an essential piece of kit. Using a marker rod will help give you a better understanding of the lake bed and enable you to find features such as depressions, gravel bars, weed beds and silt gulleys. For the Greys Marker Plus rods we have enhanced the blank construction so that this rod is capable of casting big leads and markers to the horizon. These blank improvements are combined with a ground down rod tip section for increased responsiveness. This provides the perfect balance between a powerful fast taper butt section flowing into a reactive and sensitive tip. The standard 12ft Marker Plus is able to cope with leads up to 4oz and is the perfect multi range rod for all but the most extreme distance marker work. The rod guides have been upgraded to our G-LiteTM Ultralite SIC guides with a standard 40mm butt to a 12mm low profile tip.

Shimano Aerlex Spod Reel.

Although this reel is called the XT-A spod reel, it is also absolutely perfect for using on your marker float rod and has three line clips making it a very unique product.

For the first time you will be bale to confidently and accurately clip-up to three different positions enabling you to spod with great accuracy to 3 different fishing areas.
This was a complicated process before the development of this reel when your only reel option was to put markers on the line using either a marker braid, thin pole elastic or by marking it with a marker pen thus making the whole process more time consuming.
the reel is uquiped with a fast retrieve ratio of 5.3:1 that's perfect for continued spodding and marker float work.the reel also features a baitrunner spool system, making it ideal for a super fast drag adjustment or for releasing the line or braid when being used for marker float work.
The weight of the reel is 580 grams with a line capacity of approximately 270 yards of 17lb but will hold a lot more if using braid.
contains 1 x sss + 1 roller bearing.
No spare spool as they are not normally required with a spod and marker reel which has also helped to keep the price down.
