Barbel The Enigmatic Prince Of The River
Matt Hayes, 31, is one of Britain's leading all round specialist anglers. A prolific writer, Matt contributes regularly to several fishing newspapers and magazines, whilst his verbal communication skills have made him one of the most popular speakers of the angling conference circuit. A consultant for Shimano U.K, Matt earns most of his living from angling and part from the marketing business, which he jointly owns. Matt has pursued all the major British coarse fish successfully, but he is never more at home than when fishing for barbel. Brought up in a riverside cottage on the banks of the river Severn, Matt's angling education was partly founded on fast water barbel fishing. Since moving to Newport Pagnell, Bucks, Matt has learned to catch the giant, but elusive barbel of the river great Ouse. During his travels he has caught them from several rivers including the Hampshire Avon, Dorset Stour, Teme and Kennet. In " Barbel-the enigmatic prince of the river", Matt describes the variety of methods which have helped him catch so many specimen fish (ten doubles to date!) make no mistake, this is the most authoritative and comprehensive DVD work on the species to date, covering both summer and winter fishing. Filmed on three different rivers over a whole year the film takes the viewer through basic legering techniques, float fishing, and feeder fishing before a big fish is caught by the most advanced methods available. You will not be disappointed – some of Matt's methods are unique, and his development of bolt rig barbel fishing is unveiled for the first time in this DVD. This DVD, with its superb blend of instructions, entertainment and British scenery is a must for both the beginner and experienced anglers everywhere. THIS DVD IS DEDICATED TO TONY MILES WHO, WITHOUT KNOWING IT, HAS BEEN A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION FOR YEARS. Aproximate running time 60 minutes.
