The fact is the only restriction on the amount of padding and the size of an unhooking mat is its practicality of use. We feel we have made our first unhooking mat the optimum size, as big as possible without making it difficult to transport by barrow. The base is foam with beanies on top to give the fish constant protection and something to `sink into` and the sides are fully packed out to provide a genuine barrier to the fish slipping off the mat. A kneeling pad / retaining cover are included and it folds in half and clips together tidy and compact. Best of all we have used our superb IWS super tough fabric to ensure the mat does not split or tear, some- thing commonly seen in inferior products. The mat measures in at 52 inches long by 40 inches wide and includes a scale pouch on one side and a weigh sling retainer on the other.
